Located in Tralee Town Park, the Tralee Community Garden is a welcoming space where anyone who’s interested can come along and just be and experience the garden or get more involved and learn what’s growing, sample some of its offerings and get involved in growing things in the garden and looking after it.
Tralee Tidy Towns is responsible for the stewardship of the garden, and an enthusiastic group of volunteers typically meet most weeks on Wednesday and/or Saturday mornings to tend to the garden. If you’d like to get involved with the garden please email tidytownstralee@gmail.com

We love to support sustainable coast initiatives like beach cleaning and marram planting for dune restoration. We are happy to partner with great coastal community teams like Banna Coast Care and Fenit Coast Conservation, local businesses and Clean Coasts an Taisce on these projects.

Raising awareness of our local biodiversity and positive actions to protect and preserve it is a very important part of our work.
We have been delighted to partner with Transition Kerry, Kerry County Council and elected members, the Friends of Able CE scheme and MTU on grassland management training for the protection of biodiversity.

We were delighted to receive funding from Community Foundation Ireland to undertake a CBAP for the Kingdom of Kerry Greenway. This involved a survey of biodiversity along the route by an ecologist and community workshops to identify measures which could support biodiversity along the Greenway.
Two workshops and a survey of members of the public with support from MTU Business students resulted in a report and list of biodiversity actions that can be accessed from the National Biodiversity Data Centre. A further grant has been awarded by Community Foundation Ireland to implement this plan.

We run repair cafés with the support of Department of Rural and Community Development funding. These are always very popular events and we encourage members of the public to book in to learn important life and circular economy skills such as sewing, mending and bike repair.
We were also collaborated on the Cup to Earth project – a pilot project in collaboration with Kerry County Council, MTU and Tralee Chamber Alliance using coffee grinds to make a sustainable compost, reducing waste and emissions.
