Tree Planting and Maintenance

Tree Planting and Maintenance

We have planted thousands of native Irish trees in Tralee with support from Trees on the Land, Easy Treesie, Kerry County Council and a host of businesses, educational institutions and NGOs. We are actively seeking sites for more community planting – please get in touch with us! These native trees provide food and shelter for our wildlife and help to reduce global warming.

Other popular events include tree maintenance and tree giveaways in conjunction with Trees on the Land

Support of the Tralee Community Allotments

Support of the Tralee Community Allotments

We are delighted to partner with the Tralee Community Allotments and Transition Kery on a project that supports the regeneration of the allotments in Marian Park, Rahoonane and Moyderwell. The project will help to improve and upgrade their facilities, including the composting areas, installing solar and creating a tree nursery. The project is funded via Kerry County Council and the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications Climate Action Funding, with Tralee Tidy Towns taking on the administration and project management role.

We were delighted to receive Community Foundation Ireland funding for the installation of a water dispenser in Tralee Town Park, to promote the circular economy and encourage the use of  reusable bottles. This project was also supported by Kerry County Council.

Energy Clinic

Energy Clinic

We partnered with Kerry Sustainable Energy Community (KSEC) on an energy clinic. This project saw 290 home owners receive valuable advice from a host of experts and providers.  This project aimed to provide accessible information on decarbonising homes and reducing emissions and was well-received by all who attended it.

Sustainability Lunch and Learn

Sustainability Lunch and Learn

Sustainability Lunch and Learn events offer an informal social setting to learn and chat about the everyday lifestyle choices we can make to live more in balance with our environment and people all over the world. Using the Ethical Consumer magazine as a guide, topics covered include, food, clothing, transport, energy saving, household cleaning and personal care products. Events like this are educational but also promote social cohesion and are a great way of networking and attracting more volunteers.
